About Diego Brando
Diego Brando (usually called "Dio" for short) is a famous professional jockey from England. He is one of the participants in the Steel Ball Run race. Although unrelated to his DIO counterpart directly (parts 1-6 and 7-9 take place in two distinct, separate universes), he appears to be very similar to the original Dio in both looks and personality. He was raised among a group of homeless people after his mother saved him from drowning in a river when he was still a baby.
